We practiced 'We've got the whole world in our hands' so that we can sing it at the Ara Teina assembly on Friday.

Today's practice was great.  We worked on 'Earth, We're in it Together' and then we listened to our new song, 'We've Got the Whole World in Our Hands.'

Earth, We're in it Together - our practice

Today we were practicing 'Earth We're in it Together.'  We still need to work on the middle section but we are doing well with the beginning and end aren't we?

We hope to teach the first verse and chorus to the rest of Ara Teina at our assembly on Friday.

Performance at Assembly

The Shooting Stars Choir performed 'True Colours' at the whole school assembly this morning. It was our first performance for the year so it was great that we could sing a song that we know very well.

On Friday we want to perform 'True Colours' to the whole school at our School Assembly.  We are allowed to wear a colourful T-shirt for our performance!

We loved learning to sing 'True Colours' last term and we really want to perform it again but as a choir.  We practiced some actions today.  Every class learnt different actions last term, so now we are all together as a choir we need to do the same thing!  We will practice some more so we synchronize!

Learning words

We practiced the words of 'Earth, we're in it Together.'  We are sounding great!  Our choir teachers are encouraging us to listen to our new song and practice daily.

Revising & listening to a new song

We were a small group today!  We sang through all our colour songs then we listened to a new song. It's called, 'Earth- we're in it together.'

Last practice for Term 1

We sang 'Colour my World', 'True Colours' and 'Colors' today. We are still working on knowing all the words. Hopefully we can perform one of these songs next term at an assembly. We will have to keep learning the words over the holidays. 

Mrs Baird got out her guitar and we tried to sing 'Colors' in a lower key. It was easier!

We worked hard on our practice of 'Colour My World' and 'True Colours'.

We sang several colour songs in choir practice today. Firstly, we worked on the verses of Colour My World, then we enjoyed singing True Colours at full volume!

Today only a few children remembered to come to our choir practice!  We had a good time just the same, singing 'Colors' and 'Lean on Me.'

We worked on the melody of the rainbow part of the song. We thought that the melody went up a mountain and down again.

Thinking about the lyrics

We had a good time with only 13 children today!  We focused on understanding the lyrics of this part of the song. It was a bit hard to learn the meaning of 'pride.'

We are getting better at remembering the words of 'Lean on Me.'

We had lots of children at our first Shooting Stars choir practice.

The Shooting Stars junior choir will be meeting in Room 22 on Tuesdays after lunch eating. All juniors are welcome!  Meet Mrs Baird and Miss Bland to learn some new songs!
